A concert broadcast on BRTV on New Year's Eve was widely praised for both its variety and entertainment value.

Under the theme of "embarking on a new journey", this event brought together a constellation of exceptional singers spanning different eras. Through a kaleidoscope of musical genres and the delivery of top-notch live music, they serenaded the audience with heartfelt new year wishes.

The performance garnered an enthusiastic and appreciative response, and the hashtag "Beijing TV New Year's Eve" amassed an impressive reading count of nearly 8 billion on Sina Weibo.

The concert assembled powerhouse vocalists such as Cui Jian, Lo Ta-yu, and Alan Tam, awakening the audience's nostalgic memories with familiar melodies. The lineup featured seasoned performers like Xu Wei, Jeff Chang, Sun Yue, Cai Guoqing, Yang Kun and more, presenting a fusion of timeless classics with creatively re-imagined arrangements.

Furthermore, six prominent bands, including Second Hand Rose, Anda Union, and Mixer, brought forth passionate and exhilarating live performances.

Additionally, emerging talents like Zhou Shen, Yuan Weiya, and others delivered captivating performances, showcasing their diverse musical styles.

The chief director of the gala, Li Xueping, emphasized that the performers selected for the New Year's Eve concert are not only highly skilled professionals in the music industry but also individuals with significant societal influence.

"Beijing, being the birthplace of Chinese rock music, grants us a unique advantage. Thus, we have chosen highly representative rock bands and singers, with Cui Jian and Xu Wei as notable examples," Li continued.

This year's event was held at the iconic National Speed Skating Oval, known as the "Ice Ribbon", a venue from the Beijing Winter Olympics, marking the venue's inaugural appearance for a large-scale cultural event post-Winter Olympics.

Li explained that selecting the "Ice Ribbon", situated at Beijing's new landmark, aims to seamlessly blend the legacy of the Winter Olympics with cultural and sporting activities.

Beyond the captivating performances, the event seamlessly wove in topical discussions related to Beijing, including the resurgence of cultural tourism and the ongoing development of the city as a cultural hub.
