According to Quintin, she is very confident about IHL's development and its integration in China in the long term.

"I see big potential. China has a big influence in the region. I think it's key that China also sets an example in the region by promoting IHL," she says.

This year, 24 universities from the Asia Pacific region participated in the moot court, which already says a lot of the success and the willingness of states including China as the host to work on the promotion of IHL, she adds.

The competition can help enhance the contestants' ability in legal retrieval and other aspects, which is critical to their career development, according to Joseph Pratt, an associate professor from the Peking University Law School, who is the coach the champion team.
