Kunming, Yunnan province, will distribute 100 million yuan ($14.1 million) worth of digital coupons to help stimulate local consumption in hard-hit industries and support people with low-incomes, officials said at a news conference on Friday.

Those industries include catering, tourism and sports.

About 45 million yuan of coupons will go to the tourism industry, 40 million to catering, 5 million to sports, and 10 million to low-income people.

The coupons will be distributed through a lottery system at 3 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

To get the coupons, which will be valid in May, local resident must make an appointment on a Banshitong app from Saturday to Thursday, and then wait for luck.

Each person can get one coupon for each service.

Local merchants involved in the target industries also have to successfully register on the app, so that lucky consumers can receive and use coupons in their businesses.
