Putian eases COVID restrictions


Putian city in Fujian province is lifting restrictions on preventing COVID-19 pandemic control as the city authorities ordered the resumption of work and production, according to local authorities.
In a statement issued by the anti-pandemic work headquarters of Putian in Fujian, the lockdown area, control zone and prevention region at Xianyou county and Xiuyu district in Putian will be lifted on Thursday.
Chen Zhiqiang, vice-mayor of Putian city, said during a news conference on Wednesday morning that accelerating resumption of work and production is the key task for now.
Twenty-five measures in six aspects will be applied to lighten the burden on enterprises. It includes increasing corporate financing support and promoting smooth circulation of supply chains in Putian, according to a notification released by the city government on Tuesday.
Six people were reported positive in nucleic acid tests in Xianyou county, Putian city in Fujian on Sept 10, and the confirmed patients of COVID-19 continued to increase until Sep 24.
Starting Sept 25, no locally transmitted cases have been reported in Putian, according to the city's health commission.
