Paralympic torchbearers hope athletes will realize their goals


Fu Xiaoyun, another torchbearer, is director of the Department of Critical Care Medicine of the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University in Guizhou province.
He said he felt honored to be a torchbearer and proud of the country hosting such a grand event.
"I hope athletes from around the world can achieve good results. The Paralympics show the care for the disabled and a wish for them to realize individual value," he said.
He helped in the fight against COVID-19 at the respiratory intensive care unit of the Ezhou Central Hospital in Ezhou, Hubei province.
He said Thursday is Ear Care Day. "I hope more children with hearing impairment can communicate with their families with help of technologies such as artificial cochlea,artificial intelligence and brain-computer interface."
Torchbearers set off from No 1 door of the park,passed several gardens and pavilions and finally reached the southern square of the China Pavilion where the local residents organized a dancing and singing performance to celebrate the upcoming Paralympics.
