The labs include Liaoning Binhai Laboratory; Liaoning Huanghai Laboratory; a coastal and offshore engineering lab; a life health lab; a low-carbon catalytic technology study center; and a membrane technology research center.

Liaoning Binhai Laboratory, backed by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics at Chinese Academy of Sciences, is expected to become influential in the fields of clean energy and fine chemicals.

Liaoning Huanghai Laboratory, built by Dalian University of Technology, aims to enhance the country's innovation capacity for advanced equipment manufacturing.

Hu Yuting, Party secretary of Dalian, said the city aims to be a foremost region for industrial infrastructure improvement, and a pilot area for economic and social development and to keep increasing its core competitiveness.
