Kazakhstan and Croatia Step Up Parliamentary Cooperation, DKnews.kz reports.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Daulet Batrashev, visited the Croatian Parliament and met with Marko Pavi?, Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and Head of the Croatian Delegation.
The two officials discussed current issues in Kazakh-Croatian relations, including a number of upcoming joint events and visits, cooperation between Kazakhstan and Croatia in the economic and humanitarian spheres, and further steps to strengthen inter-parliamentary collaboration between the two countries.
Ambassador Batrashev informed the Croatian parliamentarian about the comprehensive reforms initiated by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokaev in the areas of human rights and the rule of law, as well as Kazakhstan’s approaches to addressing regional and global challenges.
Particular attention was given to cooperation between Kazakhstan and Croatia within the European framework, as well as Kazakhstan’s engagement with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, especially in promoting democratic values. In this context, both parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing a constructive dialogue with European institutions.
Marko Pavi? welcomed the positive transformations underway in Kazakhstan and confirmed Croatia’s readiness to support Kazakhstan’s initiatives at the European level and to promote objective information about developments in the country. The two sides agreed to actively contribute to the implementation of the Council of Europe’s programme “Neighborhood Cooperation Priorities with Kazakhstan 2024-2027”.
As the meeting concluded, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that Kazakhstan’s multifaceted cooperation with the European Union and Croatia continues to grow steadily. Agreements were reached to support inter-parliamentary dialogue and to encourage the parliaments of both countries to contribute to the strengthening of business, cultural, and educational ties.
