Coming into the third consecutive edition, Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo in Technologies, Products and Achievements will be held from June 5 to 7, projected to showcase the latest progress in green technologies and help advance the overall green transition.

The expo will cover six major sectors of energy transformation, low-carbon transportation, energy saving and efficiency improvement, circular economy, low-carbon services, and on-site practices. Four parallel forums will also be held during the expo, themed on the construction of carbon neutrality systems, circular economy, outbound green reaches, and energy transformation.

Covering about 40,000 square meters, the exhibition will attract the presence of over 300 industry leaders from home and abroad.

Local companies including advanced manufacturing and modern services provider Orient International (Holding) Co Ltd and smart city solutions provider INESA (Group) Co Ltd will attend the expo for the first time this year. Orient International will showcase the special clothing with green certification, which is of much interest to consumers. INESA will demonstrate its latest results in the development of high-end equipment and information technology, both of which have integrated artificial intelligence.

Gu Chunting, deputy head of Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai, released the above information during a news briefing on Friday.

As China steps up its efforts for the upgrading of industrial equipment and expand the trade-in program for consumer goods this year, a special demonstration area under these two themes has been added for the first time to this year's expo. This will help to showcase the influence of the central government's policies to advance the country's green transition, said Zhu Minglin, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

Also debuting at this year's expo is the exhibition area featuring the green technology breakthroughs made by private enterprises. These companies' progress in technique upgrading and new consumption scenarios covering industrial manufacturing, transportation and data services will be displayed. These are also practical references for industries' low-carbon transition, said Zhu.

Trade and business matchmaking is another integral part of this year's expo, said Gu. Business promotions and one-on-one meetings will be held, focusing on green finance, green supply chain, green electricity certificates and power supply as well as companies' outbound reaches to expand their green businesses, he said.

Over 600 companies from 15 countries and regions attended the previous two editions of the expo, which received 170,000 attendants in total.
