Two of the United Kingdom's high-ranked universities — the University of Birmingham and the University of Glasgow — have announced a new initiative to help Chinese graduates launch their careers, through a strategic partnership with JOBShaigui, a leading Chinese graduate career organization.

This collaboration offers tailored, in-country career support to Chinese students returning home after completing their degrees in the UK. Both universities, consistently ranked among the top 100 globally in the QS World University Rankings, have joined forces with JOBShaigui to help graduates gain a competitive advantage in an increasingly tumultuous job market.

The partnership will deliver a suite of services, including online seminars with up-to-date insights on the Chinese employment landscape, expert guidance on navigating the recruitment process, and exclusive, early access to JOBShaigui's extensive employer network.

Additionally, it will host in-person networking events in China, connecting recent graduates with alumni and top-tier employers and leveraging the robust global alumni communities of both universities and the industry reach of JOBShaigui.

"International students have a prominent place in our student community, and we are committed to helping them make the most of graduate opportunities," said Professor Adam Tickell, vice-chancellor and principal of the University of Birmingham.

"Together with the University of Glasgow, we will provide a competitive advantage for our international students and deliver unparalleled support as they embark on their professional journeys."

Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, vice-chancellor and principal of the University of Glasgow, added: "Our partnership with the University of Birmingham builds on a shared vision to enhance support for students and broaden career opportunities worldwide."

"This initiative with JOBShaigui reflects our commitment to supporting international students not only during their studies, but also in their transition to professional life, opening up new pathways to success and strengthening our global alumni community," he said.

The partnership marks the first phase of a wider initiative by both universities to enhance career outcomes for international students, and foster long-term professional success beyond graduation.
