New measures strengthen Fuzhou-Matsu living circle
During the opening ceremony of the 27th Cross-Strait Fair for Economy and Trade on May 18, Fuzhou introduced the second set of policies for building the "Fuzhou-Matsu living circle".
These 10 measures are focused on integrating into the cross-Strait common market, covering areas such as imports and exports, market development, equal treatment, and cultural exchanges. The aim is to enhance convenience and distinctiveness for Taiwan compatriots.
Efforts to integrate into the cross-Strait common market include initiatives to boost economic and trade connectivity and industrial integration. For instance, Fuzhou will streamline Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) certificate issuance for products processed in the Fuzhou-Matsu industrial cooperation park and exported to Southeast Asia.
Enhancing the convenience of daily life is expected to improve overall wellbeing within the "Fuzhou-Matsu living circle". Taiwan residents holding mainland travel permits can partake in Fuzhou's consumer trade-in programs and receive equal treatment with Fuzhou residents in business. Measures are being enhanced to better integrate Taiwan residents in Fuzhou into the city's housing security system, ensuring they enjoy equal benefits.
Promoting exchanges within the "Fuzhou-Matsu living circle" is meant to bring cross-Strait compatriots closer together. Artists from Taiwan are encouraged to conduct small-scale commercial performances in Fuzhou, supported by venue assistance and financial aid.
Last year, Fuzhou launched its first batch of 10 policies for the "Fuzhou-Matsu living circle", which has already yielded significant results. This success has led to the introduction of a second batch of policy measures to cater to the needs of Taiwan compatriots and foster the integration and development of Fuzhou and Matsu. Fuzhou plans to further refine its policy details, provide necessary explanations, and ensure effective implementation.
