The unexpected appearance of a relaxed capybara on June 12 quickly became a talking point at Shandong Normal University, sparking widespread attention both on campus and across social media.
Arriving just in time for exam week, this laid-back superstar served as a “stress relief ambassador,” bringing smiles and calm to students. The adorable capybara spent the day in a cozy wooden cabin and was looked after by a dedicated caretaker.
Many students were drawn to the adorable animal, snapping photos and expressing their surprise at seeing a capybara on campus.
"What I admire most is its carefree and laid-back attitude toward life. I hope it can bring more people happiness," said a student from SNU.
"We hope these adorable animals can help our students relieve the stress brought on by finals," said a staff member of the university's psychological counseling center.
SNU invites little animal guests to its pet park every final season. Besides the capybara, animals like alpacas and sika deer are also making return visits.
