Jinan adds in-cabin pet travel option for flights to Shanghai
China Eastern Airlines is set to introduce its "pet in cabin" service on the Jinan–Shanghai round-trip routes on July 1, allowing passengers to bring their small dogs or cats on board during the peak summer travel season.
Passengers must be at least 18 years old and can bring one pet per ticket, with a maximum of two pets per flight. The service is available in the economy class on select direct flights operated by China Eastern Airlines. Pets must fit in approved carriers no larger than 35×28×24 cm, which are stored under the seat.
Travelers must provide official animal quarantine certificates, vaccination records, and complete a service application form. It is recommended to arrive two hours early for check-in assistance to ensure a smooth experience for both pets and other passengers.
Following a successful trial on the Qingdao-Shanghai route starting May 1, China Eastern Airlines now plans to expand the service to more routes, including flights connecting Shanghai with Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Taiyuan, and other cities.
For more information, passengers can visit the China Eastern Airlines application or website, or call customer service at 95530.
