Tsinghua University supplying talent to country's key sectors

A special hiring initiative for western and northeastern China involved nearly 1,000 employers from these regions attending campus job events last year — more than double the number from 2021. Over 1,000 students have participated in related internships.
Zhao Jinhan, a civil engineering PhD graduate this year, planned to join the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps after participating in a regional exploration trip. "Seeing the urgent need for high-level talent in the region convinced me to stay and contribute," Zhao said.
In addition, Tsinghua is actively preparing students for careers aligned with national priorities. Through targeted recruitment fairs, alumni talks, and partnerships with both traditional universities and emerging research institutions, the school is helping shape the next generation of academic leaders.
