The Michelin Guide Guangzhou 2025 was officially unveiled on Wednesday, celebrating the city's vibrant culinary landscape with one new Michelin Star and four new Bib Gourmand distinctions. This year's selection reflects not only Guangzhou's rich gastronomic heritage but also its embrace of innovation and sustainability, driven by a new generation of culinary professionals.

"Despite challenges, Guangzhou's professionals remain committed to excellence. They preserve tradition while embracing innovation and continue to push their craft forward," said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide.

"We're especially inspired by the new generation of chefs bringing fresh energy to the city's kitchens, as well as by concepts that reflect modern values — like vegetarian restaurants with a strong focus on seasonality and eco-friendliness. It is clear: Guangzhou is not just a culinary capital of China — it is a gastronomic destination of international standing."

The 2025 edition features 112 recommended restaurants, comprising 3 Two Michelin Star establishments, 18 One Star venues, 45 Bib Gourmand eateries, and 46 Michelin-Selected restaurants. Among them, 21 restaurants retained their Michelin Stars from last year, underscoring their consistent excellence in culinary craftsmanship.

The three Two Star restaurants — Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine, Jiang by Chef Fei, and Taian Table — continue to set the benchmark for fine dining in the city.

Adding to this year's highlights, all three Michelin Special Awards went to young culinary talents, further signaling the rise of a youthful and dynamic generation shaping Guangzhou's food scene.

Among the city's celebrated establishments, Yong maintained both its Michelin One Star and Green Star honors, and also received the Michelin Sommelier Award.

Rooted in banquet-style Sichuan cuisine, the restaurant continues to reflect executive chef Lan Guijun's culinary philosophy — "to position with soup, to shape with ingredients, to set the tone with flavoring".

Head chef Luo Qilong leads the kitchen with precision and artistry, crafting menus that resonate with nature's seasons. Sourcing locally and sustainably, Yong's dishes celebrate authentic flavors and are complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine list, enhancing each dining experience.

The restaurant remains steadfast in its sustainable practices — maximizing ingredient utility, reducing waste and energy consumption, and eliminating plastic use where possible.

This year's Michelin Guide Guangzhou underscores the city's status as a culinary powerhouse where tradition meets innovation — and where sustainability and youthful creativity point the way forward.
