Dear Minister Hu Wei, dear friends, ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen:

On the occasion of the forthcoming opening of the second session of China-Eurasia Expo, it's a great honor for China's State Council Information Office to invite in-charging media persons from the relevant countries gathering in Urumqi at the foot of Tianshan Mountain, discussing the media role in regional development on the theme of "media cooperation and regional development". We look forward to, through the forum, further strengthen communication, enhance understanding, promote exchanges and cooperation, make due contributions of the media in promoting friendship and mutual trust, maintaining regional peace and stability, achieving the joint development of the region.

Dear friends, the Chinese government hold China - Eurasia Expo in Xinjiang, designing to take advantage of the unique geographical and cultural advantages of Xinjiang, to play a pivotal role of Xinjiang in the new Eurasian Continental Bridge, and to promote further expanding of the cooperation in the field of the politics, economy and trade, security and humanities of the relevant countries in the region, give a new meaning to the ancient "Silk Road".

We are delighted to see the increasingly close contacts in the news and other humanities fields between China and the countries of the region in recent years, achieving good progress. "Sight goes before hearsay", we feel deeply that these media people visiting China produce a deep and beautiful impression. We have every reason to believe that we will become a messenger of friendship between China and relevant countries, and will play a positive role to promote media exchanges and cooperation between China and relevant countries.

I propose the following:

Firstly, undertake bravely social responsibility of the media.

Secondly, share the development opportunities of the new media.

Thirdly, continue to share the news content through the exchanges of programs and manuscript between medium, jointly integrate news resources through the methods such of joint shooting program, found publications, provide intellectual support through forms of advanced studying, training and exchange visits, reach more consensus through the forms of organizing seminars, workshops.

Fourthly, promote exchanges and cooperation with regular practice.

Dear friends, ladies and gentlemen: After 30 years of reform and opening up, China has entered a new stage of development. China - Eurasia Expo is an important platform to push forward the opening up of China to the west. China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region will be faced with a major opportunity to achieve leapfrog development, which will create more favorable conditions for media exchanges and cooperation for the countries in the region. We hope that the economic and social development in the countries of the region will promote the progress and prosperity of the media cause, and we also hope that the development and growth of the media cause will also contribute greater strength for promoting the development of economic and social prosperity of the countries in the region!
