The father of a 16-year-old middle-school student, who was detained by police for encouraging others to protest a man's death, has denied his son committed any crime and thanked people on Weibo for their care. The boy, surnamed Yang from Zhangjiachuan Hui autonomous county, Gansu province, was taken into custody on Sept 17 and released on Monday, Peninsula Metropolis Daily reported on Sina Weibo.
