"Toothsome"是一個很有用的詞，它最早出現于16世紀，有兩種意思。第一種意思是 “pleasing to the taste; delicious; appetizing”。這層意思源于tooth這個字的一種特殊詞義 “the sense of taste; tastiness.”
后綴-some一般用于名詞變做形容詞，表達的意思通常是 “like; tending to; characterized by a certain quality, condition, action, etc.” 用這個模式來套用"toothsome"一詞，也就成了刺激胃口的，可口的。
