A cultural event was held recently in Badachu Park in Beijing to celebrate the harvest of Mingqian tea, which refers to tea leaves picked before the Qingming Festival in southern China.

Students from Peking University Elementary School, Shijingshan, who were dressed in traditional attire, sourced water from an ancient well more than 300 years old and then made Mingqian green tea for visitors in the park, showcasing the beauty of the tea ceremony.

In ancient times, it was fashionable for nobles and the rich to drink tea made with water from ancient wells in the park, which are now protected as culture heritage.
