食品“輻照門”事件將大眾并不熟知的一項(xiàng)特殊殺菌技術(shù)推到公眾眼前，與此同時(shí)，越來(lái)越多的工作環(huán)境“輻照門”事件，也引發(fā)了人們對(duì)在“輻照”類工作場(chǎng)所工作的隱憂。

China is facing a growing problem with more and more accidents in the workplace involving radiation exposure, experts have said. The number of radiation sources in the country reached 106,000 at the end of 2008, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
專家表示，中國(guó)工作場(chǎng)所輻照事故增多，所帶來(lái)的問(wèn)題日益嚴(yán)重。根據(jù)國(guó)家環(huán)保部的統(tǒng)計(jì)，2008年底，全國(guó)輻射源總數(shù)達(dá)到十萬(wàn)六千個(gè)。
在上面的報(bào)道中，radiation exposure就是指“輻照”，顧名思義，就是指暴露在輻射中。在醫(yī)學(xué)領(lǐng)域，radiation exposure可以用來(lái)治病，例如radiotherapy（放療）就是利用射線電離輻射的生物學(xué)效應(yīng)來(lái)“殺死”腫瘤細(xì)胞。而如果人過(guò)多的接觸radiation source（放射源），或者接受high levels/doses of radiation（高強(qiáng)度輻射），就可能導(dǎo)致radiation sickness（輻射病）。
照相的時(shí)候，我們需要注意exposure time（曝光時(shí)間），為了達(dá)到特殊效果，還會(huì)使用double exposure（雙重曝光）。為了避免過(guò)多的ultraviolet radiation（紫外線輻射），夏天我們會(huì)擦sunscreen cream（防曬霜），核電站為了杜絕nuclear radiation（核輻射），都會(huì)采取嚴(yán)密的安全措施。
