Guangdong Dance Festival will kick off in Guangzhou on Nov 22 and serve up a weeklong feast for local dance fans. Guangdong Modern Dance Company, the first professional modern dance company on the Chinese mainland, will help the audience explore the clash of arts and reality in its opening performance, Duchamp in The I-Ching Mirror, and it tells the story of an avant-garde artist's encounter with a tome of Eastern philosophy. Modern dance companies from China, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, South Korea, Poland, Switzerland, Israel and Chile will compete for attention with cutting-edge works during the festival.
