The Pu’er municipal government has set up a biodiversity protection joint meeting system. It has also made a series of decisions on strengthening biodiversity protection, establishing the Nuozhadu Biodiversity Protection and Education Base and the Bio-Diversity Science Museum.
The government has also actively been preparing the ground for a protection fund. It has formulated the Pu’er Biodiversity Protection Strategy (2012-2021), held bird-watching celebrations and set up insurance for damages caused by animals. It also engages in R&D on wild animal breeding technology.
