It is a story worthy of reflection. It is also a story calling for educators to inoculate the country's future technical talents with compassion before teaching them practical knowledge. A group of children tried relentlessly to collect a bottle hanging from a wall that they could exchange for RMB0.05. (See photo) But the kids were unaware that the bottle was part of a joke made by some male college students, who dangled the bottle high up by a string to make it difficult to reach and thus make fun.

Three workers have been found dead and 38 others are still missing at a hydropower station after a rain-triggered mudslide buried a lodging site Thursday in Sichuan, xinhuanet.com reported. The disaster occurred at the construction zone of Baihetan Hydropower Station in Ningnan county. Search and rescue efforts are under way.
據(jù)新華網(wǎng)報道，28日，四川省寧南縣白鶴灘鎮(zhèn)遭強降雨并引發(fā)泥石流。白鶴灘水電站施工營地遭泥石流沖毀，導致住在營地的3名施工人員身亡，另有38人失蹤。目前，搜救工作正在進行。

航天員首餐考慮吃羊肉
The Shenzhou IX spacecraft is expected to return to Earth around 10 am Friday. The lunch menu items for astronauts will probably consist of mutton, several dishes of vegetables and pickles, according to Bai Yanqiang, deputy chief of China's astronaut training center and astronaut systems, Beijing Morning Post reported. The astronauts will have their lunch on the helicopter because it will be about 8 hours between their last meal in space and the landing. "The astronauts' opinions will also be taken into account. Maybe we'll bring porridge, steamed bread roll and some fruits," said Bai.

>Donations to charity fall
紅會接受捐贈量減近6成
Donations to the Red Cross Society of China dropped 59.39% in 2011 to RMB2.87b, according to an annual report on public donations issued Thursday, chinanews.com reported. The China Charity and Donation Information Center said in the report that the total public donations of money and materials at home and abroad dropped to RMB84.5b last year, down 18.1% year-on-year.
據(jù)中新網(wǎng)報道，中民慈善捐助信息中心28日發(fā)布《2011年度中國慈善捐助報告》。報告顯示，去年全國接收國內外社會各界的款物捐贈總額約845億元，同比下降18.1%。其中，紅十字會接收社會捐贈約28.7億元，同比減少了59.39%。

The decline was partly due to the publicity surrounding scandals such as the "Guo Meimei incident" concerning charity organizations. Such scandals negatively affected the public's willingness to donate to charity, according to Liu Youping, deputy director of the charity center. Fewer major disasters occurring in 2011 was another reason for the decline in donations, he added.

With the Olympics approaching, prostitutes are flooding in to London, the Daily Mail of London reported. Fears that prostitution and sex trafficking will rise in London during the Olympics are growing, as it emerged escort agencies are adopting the Olympic name. Major sporting events always tend to precipitate a boom in the sex industry, with hundreds of thousands of visitors flooding an area. With one month to go before the Games begin, many London-based escort agencies are cashing in on this.

But on their arrival in Brazil, the bodyguards realized that the weapons had stayed behind at Hollande's office in the Elysee palace. If the partygoers find a shirt's smell intriguing, a photographer will snap a picture of them with the shirt and project it onto a wall so that the shirt's rightful owner can come forward.
