A ceremony was held on Jan 4 in Guoyuan port, Liangjiang New Area, during which seven major projects focusing on commerce, logistics, healthcare, roads and city landscapes were launched and 11 projects concluded, involving a total investment of 4.7 billion yuan ($738.84 million).

Luo Lin, director of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, highlighted the strong development prospects enjoyed by Guoyuan port, and pledged on behalf of Liangjiang to take full advantage of the port, open more channels to the outside world, promote the international distribution of resources, and create a market-oriented, law-based and international business environment for market players.

Liu Yunning, head of Chongqing Customs, said they will cooperate with other departments to deal with the cargo export business transfer work in Guoyuan port, redouble efforts to check fruit and grain, and support the port's role as a multimodal transport logistics hub.

The administrative committee signed project agreements with 10 key enterprises in Chongqing during the ceremony.
