A man married a severely paralyzed woman in Wuqiao county, North China’s Hebei province, on Saturday, Xinhua News Agency reported. The bride, 37-year-old Hou Chunling, was seriously injured in a car accident in 2006 and is only able to move her head since the incident. To make things worse, she was divorced after the injury. In 2012, Hou met Chang Xianwei, a man from Heilongjiang province, who was touched by her optimism and fell in love with her. He moved to Hebei and took care of the woman, until they got married this year.

 

Capital set to charge electric cars

Hostage-taker shot by police

Police in South China's Guangdong province shot dead a man who took a woman hostage on Saturday. The incident occurred at about 12:30 pm, when a man armed with a knife allegedly took a woman hostage in a bus station, according to police in Guangzhou city, who said they shot him as he tried to stab a police officer and ignored their warning. The hostage was rescued.
