Frigates Yancheng and Daqing are to the public for visit on Wednesday.

Visits between the navies of the two countries have become "more routine", said the Third Fleet public affair officer Lieutenant Julie Holland.

San Diego-based builded-missle destroyer USS Benfold made a five-day visit to Qingdao in August, where the 285 crew members toured Tsingtao Beer Museum.

Earlier this year, A PLA Navy taskforce of five ships and 1,200 personnel also participated in 53-day Rim of The Pacific exercises at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
